YAYW (Yet Another Yellow Warbler)

Best shots I've gotten so far of the Olive-sided Flycatcher. It's rare to see these in Central New York as they nest in boreal forest. This one has stayed for more than a week.

I guess that feeder is only grey/fox-squirrel-proof. Whoever designed that feeder intended it for the southeastern U.S. and California market.

It's sold here under false pretences, although from the tight squeeze he's experience getting out, I suspect black and gray squirrels from Toronto would find it effective.

More 55-300 PLM images...hand held.

My bad hair dude.

Sometimes you want to mess around with heavy equipment and a tripod. Sometimes you just want a few pictures with no fuss and bother.

I'm ashamed to say I haven't used my F* 300 f4.5 in well over a year now. It's too good a lens to not use and I've been lazy just using the DA* 60-250 f4 instead.

I do post DA*60-250 images here from time to time. After all 200 mm APS-c is 300mm FF. So as far s I'm concerned anything over 200mm APS-c belongs in the thread. No one has ever complained.

Although truth be told, I am often shooting the 60-250 with the 1.4 TC on it.

We also welcome 300 plus photos from other brands here, although it might seem to be against forum policy. Especially true of the guys who used to shoot Pentax but wanted something Pentax didn't offer. We like to keep track of how they are making out with their new gear.

We go with the flow.

The last image is the real winner in that group (not that the others aren't good captures)

American Avocet

Lark Sparrow

Mountain Bluebird

Swainson's Hawk

The Avocet and the Hawk were taken through a tinted van window. I have to learn to reduce the shutter speed (and therefore the ISO, in TAv) for those shots next time.

K-3, DA*300mm. DA 1.4x TC

Great capture riseform. I see them occasionally in YNP but they are elusive.
