Wonder why the multiple variables?
Foxes are all over the place so I guess it comes from local variations.

First time I've seen eagles sitting side-by-side.

First 2 photos taken with the Tamron Adaptall-2 400/4 65B + Pentax A 1.4x-L, last photo just the bare lens.
Impressive and beautiful images! Does this lens work as an A lens or like a K-M lens on Pentax cameras? If I'm not mistaken there are 2 different adaptors but I can't recall where I've read that some of them doenn't work as expected (obviously the most advanced ones that allow for aperture control).

Some Trumpeter Swans

The Long-tailed Duck have arrived - a bit skittish but this one came closer. Hopefully more shots next time I go to my favourite spot.

Thank you! I use a P/KA adapter with that lens, so it behaves as an A lens. The adapter is slightly wonky (most of mine are), so the actual aperture is about 1/2 stop wider than stated, i.e. f/8 in EXIF is actually f/6.7 in the lens. Easy enough to compensate for since I'm accustomed to it.

Thanks Swip. The shallow ponds at Humber Bay East is where I got the Hooded Merganser shots. For Long-tailed and other winter duck I go to the floating bridge at the Leslie Street Spit. It's a bit of a hike from the parking lot but there's enough flow through the gap to keep it free of ice for most of the winter. There seem to be plenty of mussels available for them to feed on and the birds sometimes even dive right under the bridge and pop up on the other side.

Very nice shot. We don't see foxes for more than a blink here.

We see them all too often, unfortunately. They are devastating for a lot of our small wildlife. Another feral animal disaster.

I have yet to visit that spot. They only open on the weekends though, right?

Ooh, that's nice and close. I like the way you caught the eyes of the beast.

The problem at Braeside is that there is probably 1000 rabbits per Tawny Frogmouth and the foxes help to keep the number down.

Braesides best 'crops' are Thistles, Rabbits, Indi Common mynas and Starlings. All introduced.

Thanks, i really like the DOF in this one. I have another one of the same bird that works just a little bit better. I can not post it though as it was taken with my DA* 50-135 @ 135mm
Biggest problem was the very sturdy cage it was in. The easiest way to get it is with a big lens to blur out the netting.
