The Kookaburra did later say if he was really trying to startle me he would have had a baby brown snake in it's beak.
Very cool, and quick thinking to use your phone.

Looks very much like a close relative of our Nankeen Kestrel, which is our smallest member of the Falcon family.

Early start today, took the new 55-300 PLM to the park. 6:30am 30°C (86°F) with a strong wind, not ideal conditions.

Focuses faster but not as sharp as the DA*300. Swings and roundabouts as expected:

It took me a moment to visually sort out that image. I think it would be easier were it much larger on my monitor. BUT, it's a great capture.

Beautiful set! The second and third images are great for a medium tele zoom!
