Great image and MF work! This is so close for a bird that isn't familiar with people, were you in a hide?

Thanks, redpit. Yep, there was a structure I could hide behind.

Very nice shot from an old lens.
I love the M*300...I keep looking at the newer versions and can’t bring myself to replace it. Thanks for the encouragement!

The second image is a stunner. Seems I remember a teacher in 5th grade that had a stare like that, a look that could make paint peel.
(Just imagine that look on a 5th grade teacher who was also an old school nun! Those were the days!)

I received this lens in the mail yesterday afternoon, purchased form a Pentax Forum member. [B]300/4 Super-Mult-Coated Takumar M42[B] Mounted it to my K5 and ventured out the driveway this morning. Caught a mourning dove about 40 yards up and away. Enlarged to actual pixel level and sharpness adjusted. Handheld 1/500, f8. Not perfect, but not bad for a lens made in 1972.

I must have been sleeping last time I was in this thread - I completely missed almost a page of posts.

Anyhoos... Verdin at the feeder again, this time after the feeder came out of shadow. K-1 + DA*300, heavy crops.
