A few Short eared Owl pictures taken from my car with a K-5/Sigma 800mm F5.6 APO EX/Kirk window mount/ RRS BH-55 ballhead.

Showing its ears.

Taken at around 90 yards.

A set of superb captures as usual with your long glass!
Best.

I particularly like the fourth image (first one on the fence post). Both the bird's posture and the well-bokehed background are excellent.

Pacific golden plover. Vario Elmar 100~400mm @ 300mm, deeply cropped. I was hand holding and didn't think I could manage 400mm in the fading late PM light.

Another beautiful set.

The Sigma 800 is your newly acquired lens?

Bought the Kp during the last Novemver offer at the US Ricoh side at 599. Bring it along during my year end birding trip at the Sandakan Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC).

Capybara (zoo specimen). Scan from the 1990's so no data, but probably a 300mm f4 Sigma APO macro on either ZX5n or a *ist (latter is more probable)
