Digging around in my archive while out of action waiting for shoulder to get back to normal.
Superb Fairy-wren. One of a pair that took exception to the Fairy-wren reflections in the car windows!
K-3 II, D FA 150-450 + 1.4x TC, handheld. See exif for shot details.

Cheers,
Terry

Barred Eagle Owl, taken at Sandakan RDC December 2019, with my Kp + DA300 + TC1.4

Never seen a specimen or image of that species of owl. It has a face that makes a lasting impression. Fine image of it.

Owls are on my personal shortlist of most photogenic creatures. Others include foxes, penguins, and giraffes. Love all the recent owl shots here!
I like seeing pictures of owls as well. I really need to see if I can get a shot of the fox in my neighborhood. It is a beautiful animal and it hasn't missed many meals given its size. There is also a SNA or wild life refuge not too far from me that people go to that is filled with owls and my understanding is that often people find they are too close to the with the lenses they brought.

There are a couple of foxes by me that I've been seeing since last year. I began leaving snacks for them in a field near my yard in the late afternoon/early evening and there developed enough trust by the younger fox that he would occasionally watch me from 30 yards away and not flee. Eventually, I was able to have a couple of photo sessions in the afternoon on cloudy days... until one day a dog went nuts barking and the fox bolted into the woods. Since then I've only seen him just before nightfall, but I still leave the snacks.

By comparison to the fox in my neighborhood that one would be considered starving. We don't have much of a rabbit problem anymore though.

Not many rabbits around here, so the poor fox has to make do with smaller critters... and any human benefactors he may have.

We got the same species over in Singapore. But this is my first time capturing the juvenile at RDC Sandakan. Was playing a call and patiently waiting for the Black-headed pitta, end up this juvenile and the Short-tailed babbler appear in front of me

Re-visit the same place again next morning and continue playing the pitta's call. Having the response after 30 mins and finally it appears for about 2 minutes to say Hi!

Black-headed Pitta:

Using the DA*300 F4 as a macro flower lens These little succulents ( bloody fingers) have leaves 2-3 cm long and will only show up after the very infrequent rains. Here near Swakopmund on the Namibian coast

At first I thought some milk cows had been struck by a train causing an udder disaster.
