Again with 2m focal length

I will try to identify a small object on the moon to calculate the resolution of my system. I would calculate: The moon has a diameter of 3476km, on the picture I have 3770 Pixel for the moon diameter, which could be 1km per pixel on the moon. Now I have to detect a crater or something else of ~2km diameter in the south of the moon (where the shaddow is present).

Can anybody help?
I believe that you have a serious problem. You have to identify a 2 pixel x 2 pixel area. I don't think it can be done, frankly.

Let me start with Schickard R (Schickard (Mondkrater) ? Wikipedia) from my last picture - here 2x magnified. Schickard R is about 5km large ==> see here
Is is also visible in the picture from three days ago - which means it is not an artefact.

Went and shot some sky carp this weekend because they are out in force again. This is probably my favorite picture of one. Sigma 300mm f/4 APO Macro with about a 50% crop.

Speaking of sky carp I think they are trying to tell me how they really feel

I saw this full moon in Iowa tonight, but the sky was still blue. Here is what I like about your photo. The focus is spot on especially at the right and lower perimeter, and I can appreciate there is some altitude on some of the craggy formations against the moon's horizon.

Thank you! The K 135-600 is the rare long telephoto lens (at least in my experience) where infinity focus is attained when you turn the focus ring all the way to its hard stop, thus making it easy to focus on the moon while in the dark.

Fake. I can tell because there are no stars, or at least that is what the we didn't go to the moon people tell me.

Nice shot

My moon shot from early last night. My neighbors massive maple tree caused the dark area at top left, limbs you know.
Tamron 65B 400/4 with 140C 1.4X, K5iis ISO 800, 1/500th, f/9.5 indicated, Manfrotto monopod. Processed with DeNoise AI.

I remember it in a normal thread - I think that is the later version when it was transformed into that article. At the time I remember something about the transformation being done.

I received the KP I won in an eBay auction and quickly put it to the test with a combination which would NOT autofocus on any of my other Pentax DSLRs- SMC-F* 300/4.5 with Tamron-F 1.4X MC4 Pz converter. Guess what? The combination works quite well indeed! Afternoon and evening bird photos. The great blue herron was about eighty yards away, so the photo is an extreme enlargement. All handheld.
