Thanks luftfluss They are quite rare and the late afternoon light helped a lot. But that is their normal colour. Nothing added

Australian King Parrots are occasional visitors here. This young fellow turned up for a couple of months in late 2019 and January 2020, but we haven't seen him for some time. He was quite bold - in the first shot he is looking inquiringly into the house in the hope we would put some seed out. (We did!) He has the juvenile green head, which will morph into the brilliant red of the adult male (same as his belly and legs). You can see a few red feathers coming through around his head. K-3 + FA*300mm f4.5

Your FA400 is doing magic. Mine tends to produce softer images when the subject is a bit farther away.
