Nice captures Rod. I still vacillate in low light (where flash isn't an option) between low ISO/slow shutter and high ISO/less slow shutter. More risk of no usable shots (due to motion blur) with the former but the ones that work will be better. Great SR on the KP - plus no doubt your rock steady technique.

I guess that means if you locate the abandoned Rover, you won't be able to read the "NASA" label.
As much as I can see, there is no NASA label on the Rover ...

But look at the all papers on the windscreen under the wiper. WAY overstayed the 1hr parking limit. They better move it soon or it will be towed and impounded

Thanks Des - access to most natural places is getting harder and we have to be creative!

I've been disappointed in the IQ of images I've taken through the big thermal-pane picture window in the study, even with the camera moved up close to the glass. I suspected that the window itself was degrading the images so I opened one of the small windows to the side and tried. Sure enough, a significant improvement in sharpness. Compare the feather detail and crispness of the face on the cardinal with the little titmouse. Oly 300mmf4 + Oly 1.4X TC on a Pany G9

No windscreen, no wiper ==> no problem

"I've been disappointed in the IQ of images I've taken through the big thermal-pane picture window in the study, even with the camera moved up close to the glass"

Same experience I have and you prove the significant better details visibility with the second picture. Good shot.
In my Sigma 500 is a simple glas element, which could be exchanged with a filter. But Sigma recommends to leave the glas in - it is part of the calculation of the lens. And it is true, if I remove the glas filter the images look somehow less sharp.

Of course not. That was part of the absurdity of my comment.

I'm having some Swarovski binoculars serviced so I was exploring the net today to find out whether there will be any delay due to the coronavirus outbreak. I wasn't successful in that, but I did come across this promotional video and lo and behold, just before minute 4 there's a mention of digiscoping with a Pentax pancake lens and demonstration of a spotting scope adaptor being attached to a Pentax camera. I have an old Swarovski scope. I'm not sure I would do this but I've never this seen adaptor before and thought some of you might be interested.

Junco taken through an open window instead of through the thermal-pane glass, so the IQ is more satisfactory. Pany G9, Oly 300mm f4 + Oly 1.4X
