These birds live really on the edge and it is a rare privilege to see them in thus habitat. There is no tourists allowed and they are quite skittish. So a long telephoto and cropping is necessary. And the dead trees and dune background can be spectacular

Since upgrading my IMac software to Catalina, Pentax Forums has been very slow to load any attachments so I used my IPad, which does not let me [as of yet ] include the “star’ symbol instead of an asterisk when I describe the lens.....SMC A * 400 f 2.8.. I did figure out my IMac was constantly downloading and uploading [ from Apple I presume ] so I turned off auto updates and now PF is back to normal.....
