Looks like there may have a significant aroma of a less than attractive appetising kind.

I keep coming back to this photo. It's really very fine. I wonder at its last moments, I wonder what events happened to this soul, to cause it's demise. There's a certain strength in the way it died, apparent in the way it held it's head high, despite death.

I keep coming back to this photo. .

I agree..... whilst I tend to post here in a somewhat flippant way..... I don't really feel that way about some of what I do (in a way it is just a continuation of my self depreciating personality).... anyway.... up in this particular arid part of our state I noticed that quite a few animals find a quiet and protected area to lie when not feeling well.... and end up dying there..... old house ruins will often be a place where they go...... in the room where this one is..... a smaller female was also there.... within the gaze of this one..... I assume they probally died last summer (Jan/Feb)..... has been dry up there the last 5 or so years (<4" rain pa.... ) anyway....

KP with DFA 150-450

Three of my first photos with the used DFA 150-450 I just purchased here on the Forum Marketplace.
Black capped chickadee, English house sparrow after a bath and a particularly bright house finch in the evening sun.
The chickadee photo is ISO 4000- The KP has amazing high ISO capabilities and has become my birding camera.

So I finally spent some time and stacked and banged on my Andromeda (M31) shots from that night. I managed to pull this out of almost 38 minutes worth of shots but still am not all that pleased with the color so something went wrong. I tried reprocessing a few times but was never pleased:

It's been along time since I was in the blind. A roll call of who was there. Currently female evening grosbeaks are out there, and I saw a Stoat wander by, but no images.

Well, this morning I set myself a challenge. To photograph all the Tawny Frogmouths I knew of or had heard of in Braeside Park. I failed There should have been 16 Adults (or more if I was lucky) but I could only find 11 and some of those I couldn't find I had seen within the last few days.

All crops except 1, K3 DA*300 no TC.

It's that first image that is really special. Hove taken & seen many images of pelicans, but never one quite like that. It's an eye-stopper and stirs the brain to sort it out.
