Lots of very nice images! The Fairy wrens are amazing birds and you captured them well, Des. The Goshawk is impressive and very nicely framed.

Superb Fairy-wren couple. KP + 55-300 PLM at 300mm. Male in his glorious blue breeding plumage.

Some more of them separately. KP + FA*300mm f4.5

(X-posted from the yard birds thread)
That male's breeding colors is really something! Well captured.
Best.

Thanks very much Corné. Birdlife Australia ran a poll some years ago for the most popular Australian bird and the Superb Fairy-wren came out on top - despite, or perhaps because of, their notorious infidelity! Everyone loves them.

Just an outstanding image, Mike.

Superb! I love how you arranged the cranes with wings up then down then up. Wish I knew how to make them do that :-)

Interesting about the woodpeckers 'fashion-ation' with red. In these parts, it's usually a head ornament.

Great work, as always. I never cease to be amazed by what you do with that lens and astrotracer.
