Sharing a sad tragic drama about the Banded Woodpecker nesting invaded (on Feb 15th) by the Common Myna few days ago. The elder chick successfully fledged and now accompany by the parent. But the younger chick fell into the pond and eaten up by the monitor lizard
. The Banded woody nesting at the local wetland park has been attracting a lot of wildlife photographer over the last two weeks. Before that, I was capturing the feeding moments in an earlier day (Feb 14) and already seeing the myna harassing the chicks, the mum came and fight with the myna.
Feeding moment after the long wait.
Mike: Mum...the bad guy is coming!!!!
Mum: Don't worry Mike....wait a minute...
