The Robins should be arriving very soon, so looking forward to some good shots with the new K-3 III.
Here's one from 2017, a female Red-capped Robin.
K-3 II, DFA 150-450 + 1.4x TC, handheld. See exif for shot details.

Cheers,
Terry

Proud mother.
First two pictures from :K1 II and 60-300 Tamron Adaptall MF, at 300mm - I forgot to enter the lens FL data.
First is a significant crop from second photo.

Third is from my KP with Sigma 50-500 at 500mm. Same robin.

Getting close to wildlife unnoticed is pretty key for some good photos, I thought I was doing pretty darn well sneaking up to this deer in an open field... until I sneezed that is!

K-50 and A400/5.6 - just cropped some off the two sides to make it portrait orientation from landscape.

Ho Ho. That is a great shot, Noel! Both birds nicely in focus - but what a great pose you have caught them in together! Love it!

Well this shot is nothing to be sneezed at, Bert - you appear to have caught it in the moment of its awareness of you. The tail is beautifully displayed. The crop to portrait has produced an image worth keeping - will definitely make for good shooting memories down the track.

Looks like New Holland Honeyeaters - they are very striking looking birds, for sure!

Thanks!

I went out again in the evening light, got a more environmental shot of some whitetail dear. Being roughly 300m away, sneaking up skills were not required

K-50 and A 400/5.6, right on f/9.5 where it seems to perform its best.

A good day, everyone!I've dipped my toes into the DSLR world only recently, but birds have quickly become one of my favourite subjects, and I found myself longing for longer and faster lenses
Welcome to the club. If you can get good shots like this with a K10D and a MF lens, you will have well-developed skills when you come to get a good AF lens and a more modern body.

Beauty Noel.
I have taken a few New Holland Honeyeaters, but never got to see the logos on their foreheads.

Been quite a while since posting in the thread, but I have been following along what you all have been posting.

Thought I had lost my 200 and 300 early December when they stopped autofocusing. Took them out to clean them as I was thinking about sending them in for repair, and thought I'd try them again. The 200 woke right up. The 300 took a little coaxing. Both working again. Only thing I can think of is the cold stiffened the internals up a bit (grease?), and now that it's getting warm... Anywhos.

My Pentax tele lenses are working, starting to get bird photos. Happy days.

K-1 + DA*300, heavy crop (6mp) and resize for web, Rufous-winged Sparrow (I think) a couple days ago.
