Those are all very nice shots indeed, jacamar. It is probably too early for this question, but just a quick assessment: how do you like the feel of working with the K3 iii? What were you shoot with before, and quick preference?
Thank you K2 - I provided a bit more information in this thread (post ##148)..

https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/210-pentax-k-3-iii/423608-post-your-k3-i...tures-10.html#

These are very early days. The feel of the camera is good. Using the settings I used on my K-3 I wasn't getting a the quick focusing others talk about for some of the time, but it may partly be my lens and I need to experiment with the settings.

The lowest volume shutter sound is louder than I would expect for a camera intended for wildlife shooting.

I normally use centre point focusing for birds and my K-3 had a pixel in the vewfinder that lit up when focus was achieved. I don't see that on the K-3 III and I miss it.

I've never heard about a bird building their nest on a raft before, but it seems like an incredible trick of nature.
Congratulations on getting a K-3 iii! It seems to be one of the very best modern DSLR's. May it serve you well!
I'm hoping to upgrade to a K-3 ii within this year, it would be a huge step-up from my K10D.
Thanks blankmampf - in another one of our City parks they have rafts for breeding Common Terns. They have a barrier around the edge to protect from Mink and any other predators. The Grebe raft seems quite vulnerable by comparison.

Love the colour and feather texture on that Grebe!

From my first day with my new K3-III. Now I should start reading the manual!

Killdeer

Ruby-crowned Kinglet

Lesser Yellowlegs

Wow! That is quite the haul of photos with your new K-3 III.

Missed... by that much!
It's really hard to tell, I'm just going by what others have told me, and Internet searching gives mixed results. There is a pear tree and an apple tree growing so close together their branches mingle and they don't always bear fruit, so I never remember which is which. Maybe someone knowledgeable will chime in.

Here's another, again with the Tamron 300/2.8 360B. The yellow background is courtesy of a thicket of forsythia, about 50 ft away.

Thanks Luftluss - I still feel I've a long way to go, especially in getting the fucus to lock as fast as everyone is saying it does.

Well...

Looks like it's that time of year again!

If I can fix either of my cars before next weekend I'll be taking the tripod and 1000mm... and a polaroid (I promised a friend a polaroid of a sheep)

I've spent a good bit of time watching a Tufted Titmouse gathering food for her five chicks. These were taken with a K1ii and DA*300.

Heh - he looks quite funny. I think he would be saying "Hey, not my most photogenic moment!".

But good shot.

Congratulation!
They are always in hiding. I know they are around in town in the summer but I only managed to get shots of them once.
