How do you find the high iso of the K3MKiii? My K5 is getting a little long in the tooth, and am considering replacing it with the new K3, to pair with my K1MKII. Right now I like the fact that the K5 and K1 have almost identical high iso performance, so I don’t need to think much between the two bodies when shooting.
Thanks. I honestly haven't put the K3iii to the test with high ISO. Since using Topaz Denoise AI, I hardly worry about going a bit higher with ISO using any camera anymore. I use Topaz Denoise on almost every bird picture (almost always turning down the sharpening) but tend to avoid it on mammals as it seems to work better with feathers than fur. I still use my K5 for camera trapping and have pictures from the past where I think it's magical!

For the hummingbird fans, WA state is unusual in that we have year round Anna's hummingbirds (on the west side) and get migrant Rufous, Black-chinned and Calliope hummingbirds in the summer. They swarm my feeders once the spring blooms fade and sometimes I feel like I'm in Costa Rica given the activity. It's not uncommon to have all ports occupied and several flying around the same feeder.

Here are a few more emphasizing back colors from last weekend:

Thanks, sorry I didn't mention. Those are all with the K3iii and DA 560
It's a silly lens and honestly doesn't play that well with the K3iii.

The humming bird shots are slow shutter speed, f/16, using remote flashes with the camera aimed and pre-focused just off a feeder. I underexpose the background and let the flashes provide most of the action stopping light.

When using the 560 with the K3iii for fleeting wildlife shots, it has to be on center focus to reliably catch a bird before it abandons its position. With the flicker shot in my prior post, the camera and lens would go on a prolonged search if I tried to move the focal point off center to better position the bird within the frame. This is despite the fact that a flicker is quite a large bird. I think it's wise that they discontinued the 560 line and am hopeful they will come out with a future 500+ lens that is easier to hand hold and can quickly grasp focus when combined with the K3iii. My dream is they'll come up with something similar to the Nikon 500 5.6 PF. That being said, I still love the 560 despite its limitations with any camera body and continue to use it regularly.

This why you need a long lens DA*300F4 with WR1.4TC

So now I feel obliged to post something else entirely, even if not as good:

DA 55-300 PLM on K-S2

Cat on the Hunt

Ok, another bird, a little better, but significantly cropped:

Common Buzzard, crop

Thanks.
Usually found at Woodlands Historic Park at this time of year.
Flames, Scarlets, Red-caps, and Rose are reported to have been seen, but in fewer numbers than some years ago.
It is a large area and they can be hard to find.

Cheers,
Terry
