And i love looking at these "tawny frogmouth" images as well.

It is such an odd looking but oddly cute creature.
Will love to actually look at one up close.

Is it okay to cheat a little? I have to input a focal length (so I chose 300mm) when using the Pentax A* 200mm f4 macro with the A-1.4xL converter

Please don't ban me - just a ruler on the knuckles if I have offended

we generally like any telephoto image. I've cheated lots of time with my DA*60-250, when I wasn't even at full reach. Besides, I'm sure we all want to want images from the A*200mm f4 macro.

Thanks Luis. Actually getting the red right in post-processing was the hardest part. (I think there was a thread some years ago about the difficulty of getting the right shades of red with Pentax CMOS cameras - something to do with the Bayer array, IIRC.)

They are certainly endearing characters.
Hopefully, I will have some shots of youngsters in about 6 weeks.

Agree with you on this Desmond. I did encountering similar problem with the male Scarlet Finch few years ago. I think in order to bring out the red, lighting is the key and must take with raw, so that we will have more data to play around during post-processing.

The colour of your Crimson Rosella looks great to me on my screen here.

I couldn't get more keeper on this Finch in one of my trip.

K1 Mark II with DA*300

My first post with the new K1. I have honestly had a hard time adjusting to full frame. The K1II is a bit overwhelming.
