A few fall duck coming through. The detail on them is a real challenge for our optics.
A good threesome.

I don't name my chipmunks. The weasel eats them and leaves their skins on my walkway to the bird feeders. Best not to get attached.

As people standing near Clouseau learned, when there are birds overhead, don't look up.

Thanks Weevil and Swip. My wife calls the Pintail the "designer duck". It's certainly not rare here but it's uncommon enough that it's a treat to get a good view.

In the situation to which you refer, it is the Canadian geese which can, so to say, really make a difference!

Hereabouts I would keep my head covered and eyes on the ground when a flock of starlings passes over. Not unusual to see flocks of several hundred, and with so many at any and all times there are bound to be at least a few who cannot hold it any longer

Thanks, she was just at head height. She's been missing (I mean I couldn't find her) for about a week, I only found her this time because I spotted dad and the kids. She disappeared after very strong winds brought some trees down in the area. I was very pleased to see her again.
Last year she had a favourite spot about chest height which was really nice.
