Fortunately, I did nab a wildlife photo this evening...

I've had the good fortune of being able to observe him/her several times over the last two weeks, and watching him run around and stretch and shake it's hard not to think, "good doggo!"

Another couple of Pine Grosbeak shots.

Pine Grosbeak (f) by

Also there was a male Snowy Owl on the marina docks at Sam Smith Park yesterday - perhaps the one I have already posted, this time after I had downloaded the new K-3 iii firmware package. DA*300mm, 1.4x DA TC - a major crop, about 110 metres away according to Google earth.

Very good results Steven. So what was the story with the repair of the DA*300? Replacement of the AF motor?

Thanks! Wasn't the best light, but had an enjoyable day with the DA 560.
Looking forward to the arrival of spring migrants.

Another Pine siskin K3iii, DA 560, ISO 6400

Thanks Des, yes the SDM motor was replaced. The repair guy indicated that Pentax had modified the replacement motors at some point to make them more resilient. I certainly got a lot of use out of the old one, but it was an expensive fix.

African Hoopoe Taken with DA*300F4 and 1.4 WR TC Still a bit short and needed cropping. Light was low and the KP was happy on ISO 3200, with some noise in the out of focus area

Let's hope a permanent fix Steven. You certainly get great results from that lens.
