Amazing, Ian. What methods/techniques/settings are you using to get such amazing captures?
If you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball

A lot of practice on tracking moving objects, pick a small target and try and keep it centered on your subject, I always try and track the head if I can.

One way you can see how well you track is by using a slower shutter speed and pick a point on your target, if your sinking Syncing is off as you pan it will show up rather quickly

I Iike to use a heavier lens for most of my work 7.5 lbs for just the lens, the smaller light lenses I find are much harder to use, even with the swallow I like the larger lens.

As for how the camera is setup I like to use 9 point dynamic and also 3D tracking ( this is where you start by placing the AF point over the target and then let the 3D tracking follow the target around the FOV

As for AF hold I like to start off in the mid level to faster

I've pondered on this line for a while, and blowed if I can figure out what you mean by 'your sinking'.
Please enlighten me.

Cheers,
Terry

This is the key think. Practice tracking and the technique for doing so. I will sometimes just go shoot pictures of cars driving on the busy road for practice. Taking pictures of moving objects is also a lot like bird hunting, the stance, how your hold it, the movement are all the same. Keep your elbows tucked in, rotate with the torso and keep the movement smooth works best but it does take lots of practice. This is the method that I teach the scouts when doing photography merit badge and since a number of them have taken various shooting sports merit badges as well I always point out that the mechanics are very similar.

Nice pictures by the way.
