Set up my new pop up blind in the back yard and on the first try I got a new visitor. Usually I only see house sparrows but today this little Lincoln Sparrow stayed for a visit.

Nice work.
I have been looking for ideas for back yard hides/blinds, or even a camouflage curtain to hang across the doorway between my lounge room and back yard.

Any chance of a pic of your new blind, links etc?

This is what I ordered from Cabelas. It's light enough to carry in to a location, sets up quick, just enough room inside for a chair and a tripod.

There's something endearing about the way both male & female Canada geese look after their goslings.

I use LensCoat LensHides. Got one AP Snow for winter, and one Max4 for other seasons...

LensCoat® LensHide™ Realtree AP Snow
on the above, I put it inside-out for some reasons...

This is the Max4 in the bushes, and a fellow photographer for comparisons

These are very compact. they are the size of a small pillow once packed, and they were not the lightweight ones they now have for sale (I would choose the lightweight ones if I had to buy them today, because the Max4 I have is made of heavier canvas, and it could be pretty hot during summer days, especially if installed under direct sun, i.e. not under the shadows. Also I think the lightweight ones would pack smaller IMO.)

That tripod seems to be a bit weak for the big lens.

If you mean the other guy's tripod on the right, yes... agree!
but depending on the technique, any support, even a monopod helps anyways. This guy has a Canon + Sigma 150-600 sport if I remenber well. The Sigma has a good stabilization system too.
p.s. I never saw his images so I cannot tell about the end result.

I find not just the tripod (or lack of it) striking. To have a bit of camo on the lens and then just sit behind it in all your humanity makes limited sense to me. Did he use some hide or camouflage later on?
