Is this the legendary SAAB Viggen?

Great capture.

Too bad i will never get a chance to catch the Viggen in action.
Will love to hear it roar by with lit burner.

Super-moon-set fail

I was ready for an epic super-moon-set but the weather/clouds didn't cooperate.

I had to settle with these:

Jersey City

Statue of Liberty at blue hour

One World Trade Center at sunrise

"Statue of Liberty at blue hour"! That photo blows any super moon set photo out of the running. That is, in my foggy memory, the most striking photo of the Statue of Liberty I have ever seen, and one of the most pleasing architectural shots to boot.

While the framing you see was shot with the SMC A* 200/2.8 I also had portions shot with my Sigma 300mm F/4 APO Tele Macro so I say it counts (kind of a stretch but I don't do it often). My processed stack of Rho Ophiuchi which is in the constellation Scorpius and near the galactic core. My first time shooting it I ran my 300mm on it with 2 different framings and the second time I correctly ran my 200mm on it. The shots from both sessions, lenses, and cameras were combined. Because I didn't do local normalization there are some stacking artefacts from the 300mm framings.

And because I now have a bad habit of running multiple cameras at night I present the Pac-Man nebula shot with the SMC A* 400mm F/2.8 ED [IF] and K-3iii using astrotracer type 3. I only had 36 shots each of which was only 40s long but still got enough to work with. This is a crop of the mosaic but is the correct framing for that 400mm and K-3iii. With so few shots there are some stacking artefacts that show but they are starting to disappear. This nebula is in the constellation Cassiopeia and the bright star in the upper right is one of the stars in the W of Cassiopeia.
