There were several of them around on the day. This one didn't seem at all perturbed about being photographed.

So that is the secret of that muddy water edge - up until now I have been assuming that were seeing the edge of a dam.

In the summer months I always have a couple of jerry cans full of water in the boot [trunk] of the car. It works better after a dry spell because there are no other puddles about.
