African Jacana

It is not out of balance. The front of it's foot is right on the edge of the lily pad

I've never seen a leucistic White-throated Sparrow before - I also was able to get a shot of the regular version, for comparison:

Also lots of Yellow-rumped Warblers today, feeding up on insects and berries.

Don't have the time or money for a trip to the Adirondacks, so I went to the zoo on this rare nice autumn day...

Yesterday I spent a good bit of time watching some Great Egrets at a local preserve. This one was having quite a time trying to eat a crawfish. K3iii and Sigma 50-500.

Oops...

Got it again

Back to birds.

This is a full frame of a golden crowned kinglet. Shot with the FDA 150-450 and 1.4x Rear converter on a K1 MKII. Shot wide open at 1/1000 and ISO3200.

Note, this bird is about 75mm long and 15 grams. I.e. it’s tiny. I was close to the minimum focus distance of the lens to fill the frame. I notice that when close in the vignetting from the TC is almost un noticeable

Edit note, I let the photo upload resize it it is sharper at full resolution
