Congrats on your little one Tommy, and for your one on the way Axl! Enjoy your little ones while you can, they sure don't stay little very long! My 4 year old already has her dolls saying "I missed you prince, will you marry me forever?"
It didn't seem that long ago she was barely walking and babbling "dada, dada!"
Our little guy is a year and a half and a wrecking ball of energy. It's great, but tiring!

The standard of photos in this thread is a bit intimidating, but here's my humble contribution from my first week of FA limited ownership.

It has been a while since I have posted anything on here.

The colours are terrific! Pardon my ignorance, but can the FA limiteds be fitted on a Leica with an adapter, or were there some lenses in special production for that mount?

I think you are quite modest. The chess player shot showcases the bokeh that the 31 is capable. Wide open I presume?

yes, Pentax produced a 43mm f/1.9 in Leica M39mm screw mount specially for the Japanese market, but it didn't take long for it to spread around since the lens is extremely good. Since then the lens has obtained a bit of a cult following considering it is the only "true" normal lens for 35mm cameras, it comes with an accessory bright line viewfinder with built-in dioptre adjustment. It is much bigger than it's main competitor the Voigtlander ultron 40mm f/1.4 - however the Pentax lens gives the ultron a run for it's money in terms of optical quality. Though the 43mm is substantially more flare resistant- even compared to Leica lenses.

Looks to me like you're doing just fine, twitch!

I especially like the second photo. Great 3d feel and subject isolation and interesting processing!

Is this the 40mm Ultron f/2.0 or the Nokton 40mm f/1.4? I wasn't aware there was a 40 1.4 ultron.

Dashu, you are correct. I meant the M-Nokton 40mm f/1.4 ...I was confused by voigtlanders naming convention, my bad.

Yeah gets kind of ridiculous with the 28 1.9; 28 2; 35 2.5; 35 1.7; 40 2 for just the "ultron" alone.

Leica makes things much simpler Noctilux= 50mm f/1.2, f/1.0, f/0.95 Summilux= 21~75mm f/1.4 Summicron= f/2 Summarit= 35~90mm f/2.5~ f/2.8 Elmar/Elmarit= 16~90mm f/2.8~f/4

On K-mount I don't think the Voigtländer Ultron 40mm f/2.0 SL II can touch the FA 43 Limited. Though I have never shot with it, the bokeh seems quite middling and the peak sharpness of the Limited is not reached, though no doubt it is good enough for all intents and purposes. (P.S. it's the same size but slightly heavier.)

I have used the ultron 40mm f/2 on my D3s and I agree with you, Its performance in the centre and corners leaves a lot to be desired when compared to my FA 43mm f/1.9 on my Leica M9 - (even if you do factor in that the M9 has no AA filter). The 40mm f/2 ultron rendering of OOF portions of the image is very inconsistent, when it's OK it's OK, But my god it can become an eyesore if there are bright highlights anywhere in the background at f/2 - (It has a very hard edge Bokeh that just looks very busy and distracting). The ultron 40mm f/2 never gets anywhere near the smoothness that the FA31mm f/1.8 achieves with effortlessness. But to it's credit the focusing ring on the ultron is broader and better designed for manual focusing but you should expect that from a completely manual lens.
