Yes Nicole, i used a Cactus V5 trigger and a YN560 flash, inside an Westcott Halo Umbrella Softbox. 45 in. Round Halo | Westcott Pro Photography and Video Lighting

No light stand, the first picture i hand held the umbrella straight down on him, and in the second picture the umbrella just lied on the floor on its covered back.

Thanks swede, I've been looking at getting some cactus triggers soon. Have heard they're good. How did you do it without a stand?? Where does the flash go?

Adjustable Shoe Mount Umbrella Bracket | Westcott Pro Photography and Video Lighting

The Cactus goes on the top and the flash on the Cactus. The umbrella shaft goes through the litle hole with a shiny knob.

Thats all, i just didnt put the mount on a stand. The Halo has a closed backside (as you can see on the link i provided in my last post) and the stand goes in through either the black side or white side, through welcro openings.

Because the umbrella is a softbox with closed backside, i can just put it on its back on the floor.

The ideal is to mount it on a stand, but i was lazy.

Pentax K7 - FA31mm f/1.8 Limited - AF360 w/ Honl Red gel, AF540 + honl 1/2Cto Gel and speed grid.

(jpeg may look bad, but that is pentax forums messing with the quality settings)

I can finally contribute to this thread after being just an observer for so long. I finally received my first limited lens last Friday, but haven't had a chance to take it on a real outing until today
All I can say is wow.....I love this lens, I think my SMC tak 50/1.4 will be staying home more often.

Can't wait to try out my next incoming lens...

Iso 100, 43mm, f/4.0, 1/2500sec No PP other than resized

Hey deadwolfbones!

My family has the same tradition, you are not alone in the weirdness. Are you Christian Orthodox? My family is Greek.

Anywho I came to this lens club to say great photos everyone! I'm drooling at some of these amazing photos.

Also I'm here to ask for some opinions on what lens I should buy: the 43mm or the 77mm.

Is there any major differences between the two? I'm leaning towards the 43 since it is about $100 cheaper, but I am willing to go with the 77 if it will be better in the long run.

Rockets, the main difference is the focal length. 43 is supposed to be closer to what you see naturally and the 77 is a longer length which is great for portraiture. At least that's what I'm getting it for lol.

I don't own it, but I think you might find the 43 the more useful of the two because of its more middle-of-the-road focal length.

They are both two different beasts, not only in focal length but in rendering as well.
