Interesting Article, Robin, and more importantly, stunning portrait!

Loving the shots, Simon; Great family moments, Urkeldaedulus; Love the extension tube 77 shot, Chaos Realm; and Swede, you're not helping me resist the 77 with that detailed crop.

More recent family shots. FA43

Both 'deep' in thought, for different reasons I'm sure

What is it with those giraffes? Babies can't get enough of them - they're like baby crack!

Edit: erm... Nice pics too...

Still a stunning portrait Robin.
Even the grain is very appealing for this B&W.

This is probably illegal here since I am not using a Pentax camera. But I simply have to show off what the FA 77 Limited does on MFT.

More in the article FA 77 Limited on Olympus E-P1. And not to forget A Review of the Olympus E-P1 with FA 43 Limited.

These Limiteds simply shine on Micro Four Thirds. Pentax should redesign them for that format!
Excellent portrait. Lovely B&W conversion, too.

I'm normally not a fan of flower shots, but I just loved the colors of this one. 77 at 2.4

Oooh, very nice. Great colors, great isolation.

I think the reason flower shots get short shrift is because 1) they're everywhere, 2) they sit still, and 3) they're beautiful already. Meaning technical excellence alone is enough to let you produce beautiful flower shots. And there's only so many ways you can shoot 'em, eh? Still, I'm with you. I like this one. And I shoot 'em myself. Still. They are pretty

That's o.k., I do the same thing. I have had my e-p1 since Nov but I am just now getting the hang of it.

Is that a tiger lilly? What wonderful colors.

I honestly don't know what it is. It's in my mom's back yard and she doesn't know what it is, either. Some sort of lily is my guess, too.

I think you're right -- people think of them as too common or too easy. Not challenging or artistic enough, or something. It might be a little more than that though... there are a lot of really nice flower photos out there, so I think people who are new to photography pick them as an easy first target and produce a lot of... not so nice flower photos.

Personally I think they're really pretty, and begrudge no one for lifting a camera to them. I'm a bit sad for people who refuse to lift their camera to capture something beautiful because it's already been done.

I love flower photos. I don't care how many times they've been done.

I should get some shots of the beautiful rhododendron blooms here in Seattle before they all fall off!
