Just a question on the first one, whats going on with the black foot?

They are actually called FiveFingers, and are made by the company Vibram (which makes soles for lots of hiking boots, etc.).

They've been around for a while now and were originally envisioned as a kind of watershoe for people kayaking or doing other water sports, but were picked up by the minimalist footwear running community pretty early on, and exploded into popularity in 2009 when Christopher McDougall released his book "Born to Run". I started running in them about a year before that, and they really train you to move with a natural biomechanic (midfoot strike, shorter strides at higher cadence, etc.) that is much less strenuous on the legs (knees in particular in my case) than clomping along in giant-soled shoes that force a heel-strike.

Thanks man! Yes it is actually, have you been there? This section of the exhibition was a surreal world of stuff made out of wood. I thought it was great and so was the price, the thing on the left cost about 20k euros.
