v5planet - gorgeous!! I know how tough it is to get good shots of Rainier, and HOLY COW on the pano - unreal! Similar shots are taken all the time, but this one is spectacular

mark lj - wonderful atmosphere (literally, I suppose!), and nice choices with the toning in post

dadipentak - kitty iris & whiskers that could *cut you*

v5planet - WHOA!! I know what evening this was because my sweetie called me from the bus saying, "Go outside! Right now!!" but our home is behind Beacon Hill, and from our porch the sunset wasn't anything interesting Now I see what he was talking about! I like your scrambled-for composition on this one, too

jaieger - now *that's* some nice exposure!

Mike Cash - I love all of these shots as they come up in the thread, not monotonous at all - more like an FA43 meditation Your shots of this event show of what I like best about the 43/K-5 combo - some very specific lushness of color, that beautifully smooth color gradation. This tangerine color is so lovely with the deep black behind

My FA43 has been shooting a lot this past week! Firstly a wedding, then a zillion snapshots of Seattle's every-five-year massive city-stopping snow fall

I could not have asked for a more lovely lens to shoot the wedding ceremony with than the FA43....

Today's ice storm...

I do love the FA43 bokeh - a very specific look.

Dug this one up from the unprocessed folder, taken a year ago with K200D + FA77
Thanks! very nice and funny portrait there.

So... here's some humble first tryouts with the 43 on film most wide open
film: Ilford XP2 400

the swede - I really like the Ilford film through the eye of the 43! Very nice contrast.

Some more from the wedding....

The very slight purple fringing of the FA43 at f/2 is actually quite pretty on these candle flames, I think The 43 is the only lens I've tolerated PF on - I've gotten rid of every other lens with any form of CA, it drives me bonkers. It must be my FA43 infatuation that makes it unable to do any wrong :P

The groom struggles to get the wedding band on his bride - much giggling

The last wedding I shot, the groom broke down during his vows - this time it was the lovely bride...

A lovely moment as her Bridesmaid has a hanky on hand....

The communion cup...

Thanks (or no thanks) to this thread, I'm intoxicated to get myself a FA43. It arrived here this morning and gets me excited, my first FA limited and my most expensive prime so far. Indeed a fine piece of jewel, i got a silver MIJ.

AF fine adjust to +3 and it seems spot on. Wide open is sharp which I don't understand as it's known to be soft. I guess it's either I have a sharp copy or being biased, images easily 'pop'.

Right now I feel complete with DA21, FA43 and 55-300. Hope that LBA does not hit me anytime soon.

I think the "FA43 is soft wide open" thing is when people have a copy that needs AF adjust and they dont do it. The MIJ copy I have doesnt seem to need any adjustment on my K-5 (which was a surprise to me) and is quite sharp wide open I love it
