Love the 31 as a landscape / seascape lens.

just a couple from my weekend in Calgary. Didn't really go there to do some shooting, was too busy nerding it up at the comic expo. :P

both with 77mm limited. One wide open, the other closed up tight.

Like the first image but the 2nd has some purple fring. Just curious do you use any post processing software? Or even a Lightroom lens profile correction? Just got the 77mm recently but haven't had the time to go shooting with it.

No correction on that image no. But yes the purple fringing is pretty bad in that shot. I do use lightroom 4 but I didn't use any lens correction profiles.... i just did some minor level changes and horizon alignment... probably shouldn't be so lazy.

I like the shot on the steps the best, but they're all good!
A nice keepsake for your nephew.

A few of my son from FA77
Thanks bickrs! I really appreciate the feedback. Great photos as well, I especially like the 3rd shot and the last one. How is everything going with the new baby? Getting enough sleep?

Thanks Wired! I like the Calgary shots. At first I was drawn to the lights in the first one, but I think the second image is my favorite. Really like the perspective.

Lovely shot here mike the water is perfectly exposed and composition is fantastic. Only thing is the luminance on the greens probably needs to be brought back a little. It looks like its glowing with radiation

I'm in Alameda. I've seen many of your landscape shots in the Sigma 10-20 thread recently and really like them. I've been thinking of getting one of those or the DA15 and would like to buy you a beer and pick your brain about those lenses and landscape photography, if you'd be up for it. Also, nice pano with the 31.

The greens are what I like most about this fine image. <shrugs> I see greens like this in nature ymmv, the west coast is very green in places.

thanks, i brought it down a bit but the thin fern leaves were very bright as they were catching the overhead light. that is, i never boosted any greens from the RAW image.

All pretty good, so far. Heidi is sleeping and feeding lots and her big brother is behaving too, so not suffering as much as I thought, yet! Thanks
