Nice set there Bickrs

Here is one from the weekend. It suffers a little softness (at full res) caused by diffraction but I was still happy with the results.

Wow! I hope I learn how to shoot water like this. Does this require a filter? 3 stops perhaps? I sure would like to give it a try.

For flexibly in you shooting times you will need an ND filter. I only have a 10-stop filter at this point but I did NOT have any filter in use here. I was able to shoot at 8sec shutter by stopping down to F14 and because it was about 20-30min after sunset on a stormy day. I had initially intended to freeze the rough water to fit with the stormy sky to give it that mood, but I was too late getting there to get fast enough shutter speeds and therefore chose to change the shutter speed the opposite way.

But generally speaking a 3-stop would be one of the more useful ND filters.

This is excellent. I'll give it a try ASAP. Thank you very much for sharing your expertise.

Cheers - you've captured quite a moody shot there.

The 43 appears to be way sharper, better contrast, and over all better rendering than the DA 40 2.8... is it worth it?

I havent used the 40, but the 43 is worth every penny. the only downside is sometimes busy bokeh (maybe if shooting flowers). so small and compact its glued to my camera. a tiny bit longer than id prefer for a normal but almost the same as the 40.

That's what I'm seeing too.... I'm just wondering if it's worth trading up for?

It's either the limited 43 or DA* 55.
