That second one is a shot I have about 3 different versions of. One on a clear day, one with fog in B&W and this one... All from the same position lol, its turned into my testing ground for techniques and different lenses.

Here's an example of a shot with the FA 77 that is not quite in focus, but I love anyway.

I particularly like the 2nd shot too. Not a bad place to camp out and practice techniques.

I love this too. I don't think the focus-issue takes away from it. Great moment you captured there.

Here are some very heavy crops from some shots I took from the shore - straight into the late afternoon sun. A total experiment in processing.

For those of you not into guitars, it's a Ryan Nightingale(I think)where the basic model goes for $10k. Anyway, if you want to also take pics of beautiful instruments, the Healdsburg Guitar Show will be in the Bay Area in 11 months. I'll be there with the K-3...I hope.
i go to this show too and often have my Pentax.

I'm envious Mike. Please post some pics if possible especially if you get to go to the acoustic section of the festival.

Antifreez, I really like your sailing pics.

i usually don't pay much attention to the acoustics, just the archtops mostly.

Overall, the acoustics are prettier and more varied. My first Jazz teacher had a '78 D'Aquisto New Yorker.

This set of wine stained, wine themed Benedettos was on display at the last Healdsburg show. Some of the inlay work incorporates actual wine cork, french oak barrel staves, sterling silver, and other unique materials. Good stuff.

Ohhh man those are nice. I especially like the one with the Florentine cutaway and the one with the centered sound hole.

The story behind the Benedetto's were covered in "Guitar Aficionado" this year. It's good to see that we're not
all strictly photo driven here. Two more acoustics and one more PRS w/a rosewood neck and I'm done.
