The DA*16-50 is a nice lens, but the focus speed is not particularly good (although it is of course almost silent). I very much doubt you will find a noticeable difference with the FA limiteds, especially the 31 and 43. The 77 has a longer focus throw so it is a touch slower. On the K-5 IIs they are all super accurate.

What you do gain is over a stop of aperture speed, far better sharpness at wide apertures and much better performance at the edges. And you can bung them on a film camera and see what they are really capable of.

I use the zoom for my concert work, but when it was away for SDM repair I made do with the FA31 and FA77 and got many outstanding images. When I am shooting for ultimate IQ and my own pleasure I don't even pack the zoom.
the problem is I have the k5 and I'm afraid its AF system will dissapoint in low light with the FA limiteds wide open. AF is my only con of the K5, otherwise its a "use it, till you break it" camera

I did almost buy the 77 limited here. I was in the States, there was one with a slightly bent hood for 600 $ but the seller didnt reply my finals pm until I was back to Croatia

There really is something quite special about the way the fa31 renders light - a lovely set you have there

The sun shone through the blinds and seem to only land on this bottle and made it glow. Processing has further enhanced the affect. Shot with FA77.

The 31's close focus distance makes it ideal for food photography. I could sit at my table and shoot comfortably with it. The 43 Ltd requires a tad more space to focus...

haha yeah I wish they had told me sooner they were going to do that. I was just lucky I still had the camera on tripod when I turned around and noticed the plane about to turn. I didn't have time to make any adjustments to settings and just went with what was on there from the previous shot. I am going to remove the other shots from my post they are bothering me today.. :-)
