Wow a new daughter or at least not very old Congratulations. Nice picture !

As we were speaking of 3D, the front right of the photo pop to me: the hair of the elder daughter, part of the face and here left shoulder on the right of the photo. The clothes tend to pop, even through I still look from work.

If browser and flickr set to full screen of your image, even from work with the soso monitor, the left shoulder clothes on the right of the photo is extremely realistic and seems to pop out of the image.

The only issue is that it catch my eyes on it then while it not really the main subject.

Funny it was taken with FA77...

Well all lense with good micro contrast exbibit it, but some lense have it more than some others. FA43 is maybe the best one for that in Pentax land.

Thank you both. She's four days old now and things seem to be going fairly well.

Congratulation Rondec! It's more than important to enjoy these moments while they're so tiny and delicate.

Nice set! I particularly like the first one. That serious look is one that I am very familiar with on my own kids' faces.

Regarding the 3D effect, I see the same things as you described, which I've quoted from your post.

(I'm viewing from a mobile phone, and viewing the web-photo just as it is.)

In my experience using the 77, I do not find it at all surprising that it renders with this 3D effect.

As you've noted, it is certainly true that the 43 gives the effect too.

And some forum members who use both the 43 and 31 have noted that the 31 gives the effect too, although not as strong as on 43.

Yeah exactly, but if I understand it right, Rondec doesn't see this 3D effect. Not that this any bad, but he just doesn't see it. I mentionned it because we spoke of this very subject in another thread.

Some may not see it, and to me that's fine.

Whereas others do, and that's great.

In any case, the FA Limiteds have plenty of other desirable traits besides 3D effect.
