Those pics make me think that I definitely prefer when you keep a coherence between you subject and the background. Either with similar color temperature like in "Marina at Blowing Rocks 1" or the warm/cold contrast present in both the foreground and background in "Marina by the Lazy Loggerhead Cafe" or with a physical link between your subject and the background like in the second ("Theresa on the Railing"), "Marina 2" (where the subject has warm colors and the background is very cold lighted), "Karissa and the Wall", "Karissa Against the Fence", "Betty at Blowing Rocks", ...
"Karissa's Glow", "Jenna Glasses", "Secret Garden" are not working as well for me.
