Another flora shot. Taken with the 43. These are American Pitcher Plants, but I prefer the title: "Gossip Columns".

The Pentax-FA 77/1.8 Limited arrived a few days ago and I am pretty jazzed about this lens. I have been under the weather with a head cold, but here are a couple of sample shots from around the yard (No PP except white balance adjust, everything hand-held)...

While I was playing around, I could not resist doing a few comparison shots with the Jupiter-9 85/2. While the J-9 is less consistent, it holds its own very nicely. I can see why Voe felt that it was a reasonable substitute (Link to Voe's original thread). Here is one for comparison...

(Yes, the J-9 shot looks different...it was taken the evening before in different light. It was also taken at f/4 while the 77 shot was taken at f/2.8. What can I say? I was just playing around...)

It's the "image" that got me to try the Limited series.

Ray

PS I still think pcarfan stole the image from National Geographic.
