Nice use of the vignette, Deadwolf. I feel like I'm being sucked into the hill side when I see that photo.
Thanks! Love the photo of your dad. I really need to use my 31 more.

Prime, you're gonna love the 43.

I posted these over in the film SLR forum but I thought I would share them here also.

Both shot with a MZ-L and FA 43/1.9 ltd.

So, I just got the package today, and found a DA 40 inside. Now I'm just waiting for the return shipping label. :P

At least I'll get my money back.

Mine arrived (from B&H) - AIV Version. Would rather have had a MIJ, but I am not going to worry about it (I don't think it would do me any good anyway).

I need to play with it and get familiar before I make any judgements.

The only thing I have snapped with it thus far (the kids are at school and it is pretty yucky outside)...

KEH. They were pretty apologetic and sent me a FedEx label w/in the hour. I guess someone over there must have clicked on the wrong lens when it was added to their stock. It was mislabeled, and they didn't have another in stock. It ain't the end of the world.

Thanks - a friend of mine is a custom maker and I just picked it up : )

I should have spent a bit more time getting the wood oriented in a more pleasing way, but I can take another one.

I like the OOF area - seems pretty smooth, but that might just be that particular background. Looking forward to a lot more time with this lens. It is going to stay parked on the camera for a while.

Here is another pic that shows the OOF - this particular lens doesn't seem to create the "Halo" around the light that I have often seen in example photos with the FA 43 (the slight Halo around the upper side of the light is actually the metal trim around the recessed light fixture). Not sure if this is a good way to test the lens or not, but it is all I could muster.

This one was taken wide open...
