DaniRo I love the first one, such a clean b&w conversion. I need to learn how to do that. I also like the one with the sun flare through the split log, such an unusual perspective.

Three "passing by" snaps from 31.

I have to tell... only going out with a camera and the 31 is so fun, everything is possible and you just dont care if its not wide enough or long enough! Just shoot!

Nice shots there man! It is good to see that you have the inspiration back, you lay low there for a while but now it seems you are back in track

NicoleAu, the swede, Downfall, rparmar Thank you; I'm happy you like those
I've been playing with the b&w conversions in Lightroom - b&w portraits are my favorites

a few more

the swede is right - I find the 31 wide enough and long enough for most of my shoots

The first choice is interesting... If I may suggest, look no further than FA*24. It's not as sharp as the FA ltds but the colours and contrast are right up there with the best Pentax glass. I did compare it to Sigma 24/1.8 and never regreted my choice...
I whole heartedly recommend DA*55, my one replaced 43 + 77 (although if I had the cash I would have kept those two).

Its a funny thing, i was looking a photos taken with the FA31 last night, and I think it may have moved up a few notch's.
The DA*55 is a definite, as I really want a excellent weather sealed prime. Dont like the zooms and 100+ (WR and *) primes are too long (for most of my general purpose shooting)

And FWIW, Having all those primes doesnt mean I will carry them all at once I just want to be able to have more options for my outings. Taking them all out together kind of defeats the purpose of using primes to me.

Oh and Dani, those shots are amazing

That's the thing. I don't pack all my lenses along each time I go shooting.

My FA43 went back to Amazon - returned for focus issues, but I didn't ask for a replacement because it's too close to my FA35 in performance and fl. I think the DA* 55 will be a better fit, which I'll pick up as soon as Amazon credits me the money.

Very nice images Dani! Your PP makes simple pictures look special!

Ok... Having family and work to deal with, taking pictures is not an everyday event for me When time does come around, and something new shows up at the same time, you just have to let the shutter get warm.... What am i trying to say? eeh.. just that the pictures i'll be posting from now on maybe will bore you, but maybe not...

So heres the first set of

"Lars-Erik's timber truck"

Wow, the swede, I love seeing side-by-side shots of more than one FA Ltd. lens this way. It really brings home the unique rendering of these lenses by similarity. Gorgeous shots!

We've been having some extraordinary sunsets here, and live in an apartment with a sweeping view of the South Seattle skyline, Mt. Baker and Lake Washington. I don't even want to tell you how many photos I've got of skyline by now, and we've only lived here half a year :P

These are both taken with the 43. This 1st one I actually forgot to adjust the white balance, which makes for a crazy shot - we don't actually get deep pinks like this. It was fun, so I left the false color. We're under the SeaTac flight path, so I get great planes to liven up any sky shot :P

This second one is a 4 photo, portrait orientation panorama of a crazy sky this evening. I love the rendering of this lens! And the K-5 can do things with subtle color gradations that make my toes tingle. Damn! This is from the in-camera jpegs, with very little correction for exposure once the panorama was assembled. The K-5 is going to spoil me - I just don't need to do 75% of the editing I'm used to doing :P
