After shooting I wanted to drink a cup of coffee, but I had the wrong camera:

Simon, you're making the rest of us look bad, man. Excellent work.

Well, today the 77 and I journeyed down to the Fremont neighborhood for the annual Summer Solstice Parade. This is my first time attending it but... it's pretty crazy. Lots of people stripped down to nothing with body paint riding around on bicycles and marching around. I have a LOT of photos from it today but I honestly don't know how much is appropriate to share here.

This one's relatively safe though, so I thought I would share it to whet your appetites. Most of the nude people who were there arrived early and were fully painted from head to toe as a sort of performance art, but at some point a couple guys in the audience felt inspired and decided to free themselves from the societal yolk that is clothing and have a foot race down the street.

I'd like to emphasize that this was a family-appropriate event. At least by Seattle standards. People had their young children all over the place:

Here are a few more safe-ish ones. The rest are a good deal more explicit and I will leave you to discover them on your own via flickr if you so desire. Some awfully creative paint "costumes" amongst the participants.

Body paint and hairdon'ts:

The "police" were on full alert:

Various war parties flaunted their physiques:

I'm glad you put that qualifier in there. I can assure you that the only place in the south that event would even be allowed to take place is New Orleans, or perhaps Atlanta, but no way would it be considered family-friendly. Lots of places in south Florida would allow it, but that part of FL is not considered to be part of the south.

Simon, beautiful shots as always. Love your tunnel shots Swede,I love shooting those as well
Interesting event V5 lol. Love your shots on here.

I got to use my 77 at the Winter Magic Festival yesterday, it was kind of hard to use as I'm used to the length of the 50 and I was in a pretty crowded place. Anyway, I still enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to getting to know this lens properly
