I think you'll love the K5. I bought mine late last year after seeing some higher ISO images (higher than my K200D could comfortably handle) and I was blown away almost immediately. If I get into bean counter mode, it probably cost me about $2,500 because I spent a few hours of billable time chasing down a good deal and driving into the city to pick it up. I don't regret it.

Now I'm waiting for my FA77 to be delivered. I clicked the button at B&H last Friday (Oz time), just in time for the Sabbath and Independance Day to add a couple of days to the delivery time

I think the Aussie to the Greenback is about 1.07:1 at the moment. Is that a hint?

Is there anyone here who has both a MIJ LTD and a AIV LTD?
Just curious about the pouch with the AIV version, if its the same quaility as the MIJ version?

My FA LTD's are MIJ copys and the leather pouch is real leather and feels so nice inside also has "made in japan" written on the bottom of the pouch. Then I compare it to the pouch that came with my DA LTD, its fake leather and inside feels no where near as nice as the MIJ FA LTD pouch's.

Are the AIV FA LTD pouch's the same as the DA LTD pouch's?

My AIV pouches are black leather with Gold "Pentax" writing. It says "Made in Japan" under the bottom. Feels like real leather. The 77 and 43 pouch is exactly the same.
The 31 Ltd AIV bag is different, bigger, and also has the gold "31/1:1.8" mark under "Pentax". Also "Made in Japan" under the bottom.

My DA 15 Ltd is very different in texture, def no leather! No gold "Pentax", just black and very small impression. Not "made anywhere" it seams

My FA77 is the same as the Swede described, it's a lovely little bag. Now you've made me curious, were the older ones assembled in Japan as well as made there? Are the newer ones parts made in Japan and then assembled in Vietnam?

not sure if this pic is helpful or not:

the gold printing is obscured by the lenses but you can see the grain and stitching of the pouches. i know my 43 is MIJ and i believe all the rest are AIV but i will double check and report back.

ok, i just took them out and the AIV pouches say "Made in Japan" and are identical to the MIJ pouch. I see no obvious differences.

Mike, was this bit of lens porn shot before the encounter with the rogue wave? Your DA15 looks notably cleaner than I would have expected.
