I just "liked" five posts on this page alone -- yes, it's that good!

I just bought a used 77LTD (MIJ) and the guy at the shop said they had a used 31LTD not long ago from the same seller. Needless to say I was pretty cheesed off about that. Anyway, I have been wading through these great pages and have got to page 91 thus far and wanted to make a suggestion that perhaps each shot could be supplied with either MIJ or AIV along side it. This may go some way to dispell any doubts and myths arising about the quality.

Not sure what such an exercise would prove/disprove. At these web resolutions you probably wouldn't see any difference even if there were any. Furthermore, camera body, user technique, lighting conditions and a million other factors would be more significant than country of production. I personally just accept that the MIJ and AIV are identical in build and image quality and go out and shoot with my AIV FA31 and FA77 without thinking about "what-ifs"

It has been along time since I posted anything to this thread, so I'll post something I got up to today - buying a new oboe.

This Rigoutat oboe cost as much as a 645D. All the custom handmade sterling silver keywork is what made it cost so much but it is worth it..the low notes on this oboe are beautiful.

Taken with the FA77 f/1.8 Limited + wireless flash

Awwww.. these pictures are so good.

Below, a couple of my humble tries with the FA 43. As you'd rightly guess, both shots taken in Italy

Firstly a marvel of simplicity

FA43, f/2.0, 1/200 s, ISO 200, handheld

And something contrasting: new, sophisticated and complex

FA43, f/ 1.9, 1/400 s, ISO 200, handheld

Very nice shots. I really like the first one!

The second one has some very unusual "bubble-like" bokeh in the top right of frame. But nice perspective of what appears to be a nice looking car.

These photos in this thread are so amazing! This is my first post here. I do not own an FA Limited but maybe one day when I hit the lotto.... But I just had to say to alfdog, your photos are all wonderful but that upside down butterfly is magical. Congrats.

Thank you for the feedback! I too like the shots of this little FIAT 500. Referring to your bokeh comment: it is typical for my copy of the FA43 lens. Should/ could I do something about it, you think?

The white car in full looks like that:

From the 31mm

That is properly made 31Ltd, as well as 77.
I don't particularly like 43 though.
