However, the alternative to software correction would be to find a lens of 70mm focal length with an aperture of f/2 or faster that is apochromatic for Pentax K mount - something that simply doesn't exist.
Also curious, does an equivalent lens exist in another mount that is apochromatic that you know of?

no,true apochromatic lenses are a rarity. A majority of them for 35mm format have focal lengths 100mm and over. There is a 50mm f/2 Apochromatic lens made by Leica in M mount, that could be used with an adapter on a NEX camera to give a similar FOV but that lens costs well over $6,000 - and it is intended to be used on a full frame camera.

Interesting. I'll have to look up some images to see what that 6K lens is capable of. Thanks for the response!

Awesome.
I would like to think she is listening to Enter Sandman or Sweet Child but she is most likely listening to One Republic or Taylor Swift.
This would be a great ad for Audio Technica, Sennheiser or AKG.

not at all embarrassing, that's a GREAT shot, I love how the colors are gently rendered and "smooth into" the background. Wonderful shot ryan s.

Here's my attempt with the same 31mm at f/3.5 on the K10D

Indeed, that was a very nice shot - impressive lens, isn't it, that 77mm?

way. This has always been the lens I've wanted most since starting out five years ago. I've only taken about 10 shots so far, and none of my kids yet. Can't wait until I get my first printables of them with it..
