A few more from my first and only (so far) outing with the new 77mm (MIV). Taken during the melt of an ice storm just prior to Christmas.
Foot notes: In spite of the very challenging conditions I feel the lens did remarkably well. The foreground of the scenics were shot in very low contrast conditions (under a heavy white sky) while the background of the scenics and the individual close-ups were shot in extremely high contrast conditions against that same sky. Defringing (removal of purple fringing) in Lightroom required 0 (impressive), 3, 6 or 9 for some of the images of highest contrast backgrounds and the importance for it I would judge as relatively small to negligible. Unless noted otherwise, I left the colors untouched from the natural K-5 / lens combo contained in the RAW file.
(This image: Lightroom 'Direct Positive' to bring out the contrast a little more.)
(This image: Lightroom 'Auto' increased emphasis in the graduation of color within the leaf a little.)
