Love them, especially the very minimalist one.

[Cross-posted with the "Single in February" challenge for 22/2/2018]

At the Taylor-Wessing Portrait Prize exhibition this year they featured photographs by Todd Hido. As I liked his portraits, I bought a book of his photographs ("Intimate distance") to discover his portraits were quite a departure from his usual style. One of his earlier collections was called "House Hunting" which is a series of quite ordinary US houses photographed at night, with one prominent lit window. He uses a unusual, unrealistic colour palette. As I had failed to take an image earlier today, I thought I would channel Todd and take an image in the spirit of his work. This image was created by using five bracketed images so that I could get both the window without blown highlights, but also the shadows of the trees in the moonlight. Like it or not (and I am not sure I do!), it is very "Todd".

Pentax K-3, SMC Pentax-FA 31mm Ltd, tripod, Photomatix Pro and Lightroom.

A bit of fun for the "multiple exposure" theme day in the "Single in" challenge group. FA31/K-3/PS3.

Orrick wanted me to upload his photo - and who am I to argue with my dog. I think he thought the stick was a microphone.

One of my favourite 77mm shots. I was just horsing around, but it came out pretty nice.

I have enjoyed my month using, almost exclusively, the FA31. I was a bit frustrated at first as the focus was way off, but once I had dialled in the correct amount of adjustment, my did that lens perform. At f/8 it is sharper than a very sharp thing. March is going to be a little different using a Jupiter-9 85mm lens. One last posting of an alternative version of the above image which proved more popular in the UK fora than my original one.

Like this one. Makes one wonder what lies beyond the gate.

These are great shots, especially the last two.
