Eddy, I really admire the attention to detail in your studio shots, like the way you coordinated the background color with the focal point of your son's art (which is also very nice!). I like the pose, too. His idea, or yours?

FA77 on a bike ride this morning.
My son's a teenager, and with that comes a certain amount of self loathing and reluctance But he needed an image of his finished skateboard for school, so I took the opportunity to snap him holding it rather than a boring phone pic of it just sitting on the floor (sometimes it's nice for us parents to capture these moments as well, something to look back on in years to come, as he was pretty chuffed with his work). I start the session off with my mannequin to get the key light working in such a way that I am liking the results (this also saves the model time and lets them continue playing computer games till I am really ready for them), then a rim light and finally during the session I decided to funk the shot up a bit with a pink gel to correspond with his rising son image on his board, to kinda 'pull the image together'. I suggested that to place more emphasis on his board rather than him to perhaps have him 'peaking' behind it, which he far more preferred (as he keeps thinking he looks ugly at the moment ).
Lots of cussing and stamping of feet during the session I guarantee! However, once he saw the finished shot I got quite a few cuddles and 'sorrys' ahahaha

I'm glad you like it.

I also like your bike shot, superb subject isolation, I really don't use my FA77 enough...

I remember that angsty teenage phase well.

I don't think it's possible to use the FA77 enough. Every time I take it out, it amazes me all over again.

More pictures I hadn't processed yet, from when I took the best lens ever to the balloon launch at the Northwest Art & Air Festival, on my vacation in the Before Times...

Really loving those balloon pics, all of them. It's something I've never done or photographed, they look absolutely amazing and make such interesting things to photograph. I don't know what it's like to be up in the air in one of them either but I'm guessing they proving a really great photographic opportunity? Something more peaceful and serene than say shooting outside of a chopper. Hmm... this feels like a bucket list item! Thanks for the share!

Throwback Thursday - I Contact

This shot was taken last year at the beginning of a christening, while friends and family gathered outside. I took several candid shots during this initial greeting, but it's nice when you get unexpected eye contact.
There's a moment between the two of us, everyone else oblivious to my presence except her. Even though I am not in the shot, my presence is felt within the image.
