I'm in a similar position except that I picked up the 43mm just before COVID really kicked off. To be honest I'm yet to be convinced by it but I haven't had the chance to give it a real work-out yet.
The guy who sold me the 77 gave me a great deal on the 43 as well. I haven’t had an opportunity to shoot it yet. COVID needs to gtfo

I've been a 77 and 43 owner for a few years. To be honest the 43 didn't always get much use here. I am not much of a portrait shooter and really I would say the USP of these lenses is their value above the modern zooms for portraiture. 43 does seem to have a gift for environmental portraiture with good subject isolation and attractive rendering.

I recently got the 31 'just because'. There was a reasonable (if still not great) deal on and I felt like doing a bit more wide open prime shooting after a few years of concentrating on the heavy zooms. And seeing some of the shots here, I felt like I had an itch to scratch.

The 31 definitely has something about it. Just a nice way to render wide open, and very nice colours. I definitely am glad I picked it up. I would still say (for me) the 77 is somehow the pick of the bunch, I am looking forward to more 43 and 31 shots when I have that mood to travel light.

For me, there's just something about the mood you get into and the shots you end up with when using these lenses, it's really different and enjoyable. Of course, they are not weather sealed, so the good mood is partly due to the fact it's not raining!

John
I agree that the 77 is the pick of the three. My wife calls it the magic lens, and keeps it with her cameras so that I seldom see it. When we go out shooting together, she says, well I will take the magic lens, and you can take something else.

I have the 77 and 43. I'd like the 31 but have not found the right deal when I'm able to spend. I have the FA* 24/2 for the wide end of a prime trio.
I'd really like if there were a wider FA Limited prime like 24 or even 20. I feel like 31 is not that far from 43 and wouldn't mind having the gap there a little bigger.

I think the 43 is solid. It's a bit prone to flare but that can be handled through technique and/or post. Most of the time I have no issues with it. I guess it isn't as sharp as its siblings but that certainly does not mean it isn't sharp. It can suffer from CA too but so can the other FA Limiteds and that is easy to fix. I knew all that before buying so I'm happy with mine for sure.
I'm excited to see what the D FA 21 can do. I too have the 77, 43, and 24. I added the 31 about a year ago. The 24, 31, and 43 are different enough they really don't overlap.

The 43 was my most-used lens on the K10D. The 77 is my most-used lens on the K-1.

I was in Roskilde for a day on our holiday last year, very nice place. I didn't yet own my 43mm Limited to take any pictures and post them in this thread though.
