I'm sorry to hear that.

I'm assuming that by DA40 you meant the Limited lens?

It would appear then that this happens not just to FA Ltds but to DA Ltd's also..... ?

Thanks for the tip, I'll be keeping an (uneasy) eye open now, for my DA Ltd 15 & 35.

Wondering whether other DA Ltd owners here have experienced this sort of jamming as well?
Yes, the 40mm Limited. It only cost €45 to get it fixed so not bad. None of my other Limiteds have had this or any other failure and I've been using them for longer.

The FA77 is my go-to lens for studio still life work, its low distortion and pleasing rendering are the main attractions.

This is a beautiful picture, if I may ask, how far were you from the orchids ? I have my eye on the HD version of this lens and flowers are on my list of fav objects to click. thanks in advance.

This varietal of orchid has flowers that are actually quite large for their kind, so I was about 600mm away from them with studio lighting, and a gelled scrim for the background.

That Limited does seem to shine on your Z6. Do you find the A/F to loose anything on the adapter? Speed? Infinity? Exif?
Thanks,
Eric

Great composition... That's hard to do with flowers, but the eye is drawn through the picture well here.

Jumping in even though I'm not the one you asked... There are no autofocus adapters for K-mount lenses, not even a rumor for Nikon, and not yet for Sony. One is currently in the works for Sony by small Chinese company MonsterAdapter, but who knows when it will actually be available. So, all EXIF and much speed is lost, but no issues with infinity focus on any mirrorless body.

I didn't get my Limiteds until after switching to a Sony body years ago, but although the focus throw is very short and light, the experience is still pretty nice when adapted to a mirrorless body. FA77 is my second-favorite lens ever, even without autofocus.

Thanks very much for the answer Digitalis - much appreciated. Now I get an idea how the setup is; thanks to you, i might try a similar setup for magnolias next year.

I presume that this lens is the SMC version ? BTW the sharpness in the eye is quite amazing, did you focus explicitly on the eye or did the DOF take care of that. very nice picture - TFS
