That first frog's AWESOME.

The 43 is my favorite lens. I've concluded that how a lens renders stone and metal - with a sense of aliveness and natural detail - is a good test of excellence. This photo I think has that - click on it as it's worth seeing much larger on the flickr page.

It is a person's name.

the FA77 limited's surreal bokeh (incidentally does anyone know what the writing means?)
Someone carved his name on the bamboo(?). The first character is his last (family) name. That character itself means "slow & peaceful"(the same character is often used to describe "breeze"). The last two combined are his first (given) name. The meaning is "great people".

They are simplified Chinese characters, meaning someone from mainland China (not Taiwan or Hang Kong) carved them.

The 77mm has wonderful bokeh!

31mm while walking backwards with a 6 second shutter speed in near dark conditions--metering lightened it to daylight...

Correction--this frame was at 4 sec. shutter speed.

I like that blur image ron, there's a sense of light to it...which is funny because there was a distinct lack of it when you took it.

thanks for the translation hyyz, I'll just call it "great people".

some more images from the FA77 f/1.8 limited

I'd like to ask if we could all post smaller images so that we can save ourselves from the mental torture of looking at the stunning detail in some of these pics?

The head on pic of the green frog is freaky enough to make my palms sweaty because I'm afraid he's going to jump out of my monitor...

Wow! What a bunch of wonderful pictures!

I am very sad though...This club is very exclusive...

I have no FA limited lenses...

I think I will find some place to mope...

Steve

(On the other hand...today is my birthday...and there is that tax refund money...and good as it is, the Jupiter-9 is really not quite as nice as a FA 77 ltd...)

(Must resist LBA...but then again...a limited lens is not LBA...not really...a form of investment actually...)

Somebody should start a rival DA Limited club. Then I would feel all left out!

I really think that Pentax should expand the FA limited range. The new DA limited are okay, but are nothing compared to the older FA. They should bring up an FA 23mm f/1.8, and a 124mm f/1.8

I hope the new lens line can use the DA limited coating (less flare & PF) with FA limited design... Would be awesome

And a cheaper alternative to the 31 please... Love the images and the range but it will be a long while before I can get one Now if they can get that DA* 30mm back to the map.

yeah, something like a apochromatic macro 125mm f/2.5 would be nice....

i'm still kicking myself for not buying that 125mm lanthar when I had the chance. seriously I'd like to see pentax make a FA limited in the 100-150mm range with an apeture of f/1.8 - it would be nice if they made a FA version of the 21mm f/3.2 limited except they should make it f/2.8

and now for some images from the 31mm f/1.8 limited
