wow very nice! welcome to the forum.

i feel like i know you....

did your boyfriend give you a 77mm when you already had a 70mm? do you have a 'it rained bokeh today' picture? i think i read your postings on the 77mm on flickr when i was doing research on the two.... (i picked the 77mm . your post helped a lot)
small world?

if not then please disregard everything except the welcome
Oooh, I can't believe you know that picture! I think this is the one you're talking about:

#172 of 365: Today It Rained Bokeh on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

I'd gotten the concept when I took photos of a friend at that place one day, and I went back the next at the same time to do a self-portrait there. I had timed it the day before, and the sun was only in the right spot for about 3 minutes. It took quite some tries with the tripod and timer to get that one right.

I chose Pentax as a camera system because of a shot I saw on flickr with the 77 years ago, so if I run across the guy who took that photo, we'll know for sure just how small this world is. I'm glad I could help you out - I'm guessing you don't regret your decision?

yup thats the one!

thats an awesome picture. is that actually rain and did you light it up with flash?

i dont regret my decision at all but it seems its much more capable in your hands. i actually havent taken it out for a while, but because ive been playing with other lenses. i'm going on vacation to the bahamas tomorrow and i hope to have a few pictures to add to this thread.

this one is one of my faves from 77mm (with macro tube extension)

That's an awesome shot! I had no idea how difficult it was to shoot fish until I tried - and out of 3,000 photos on my flickr site, none of them are fish The air bubbles really add another dimension to it, and you nailed the focus. I really like working with extension tubes myself, but you must have been quick to get this shot!

The bokeh in my photo was actually made from a fountain. It's one of those that had a small bowl at the top that spills into a large bowl at the bottom. I was sitting on the edge of the large bowl. The light had to hit the water at exactly the right time and at the right angle to the camera to make the effect.

I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing with flash, so no, no flash on this one.

self portrait - starring the Pentax K50mm f/1.2 - taken with the FA77 limited at f/1.8 bounced P-TTL flash, converted to B&W in PS..all you see was all done in one shot.

Thanks so much, NaClH20. I have a blog where I mostly write about photography stuff and I really like explaining how I take or process shots. I hadn't done a post on this photo, but now I just might.

The blog is at A Scenic World

great wooly jeebus!!

If this thread alone was not enough to confirm my swtich from the 40D to the K7, those two shots seal the deal!

Now, I almost want to sell a kidney to add a 43 ltd to go with the 50-135 & 77 ltd I ordered last night. All I need now is the actual body...hehehehe...
