My new 43mm just arrived and it's a beauty!
I should have paid more attention to the revews re: the lens cap and hood, though.
Can I put a skylight on it and use a different cap? I shoot indoors a lot and can put the hood on as needed but I think I'd rather leave it off in general.
I noticed someone mentioned a DA 21mm cap as a possibility?
I have a $0.99 49mm lens cap on and it works beautifully. I will also mention I don't use a skylight filter on mine either. The cap goes on the same as it would for any other lens with a 49mm filter thread.

When I switched to the Pentax system, well, mostly prompted by the, well, poor fit of the lens cap on the 35ltd, I ordered a bunch of various sized center pinch lens caps...I figure I can keep the original lens caps on the Limiteds looking new that way on top of, well, them not just falling off. Plus I cannot believe what Pentax charges for replacement lens caps on the Limiteds...great jeebus I almost had a stroke right then and there...I got something like 10 caps for what one lens cap for the 35ltd would have cost.

This is the most expensive lens I have for the Pentax so I'll definitely get a skylight.

So, any 49mm cap should work? I spied a sweet little vintage silver one that is described as a push cap. As opposed to the pinch-type?

@kristoffon, nice shots. I especially like the 2nd with the flowers in the foreground and what looks like some sort of abandoned factory in the background. Well done.

@Robin, that hoverfly with the blue flower is just stunning! And I really like the factory with the lightpole "flower too. And I agree with netuser

Thanks for all the comments. I knew as soon as I took this shot that it was the photo of the day. It just jumped off the screen for me. All the colours were right there. The only problem is the highlights off the hoverfly wings.

Unfortunately this did not win for our photo walk group. Instead, this did. Oh well.
